Xavier Gomez Hypnotherapy
– Modern Hypnotherapy Informed by 20 Years of Mental Health Experience-
Sometimes we understand exactly what we want to change, yet our automatic reactions, habits, emotions, or internal narratives seem to have other plans.
Hypnotherapy offers a way to work with these deeper patterns—not just through insight and willpower, but by helping create new associations and responses that are more aligned with your conscious goals.
– REWIRE YOUR MIND, RESHAPE YOUR REALITY –
You Can Understand a Pattern and Still Struggle to Change It
Lasting change can sometimes be difficult when the automatic patterns operating beneath the surface aren’t aligned with what we consciously want. You may know that a fear isn’t rational and still feel anxious. You may recognize a relationship pattern and continue repeating it. You may genuinely want to change a habit or reaction and wonder why insight, motivation, or willpower haven’t been enough.
Our behaviors and emotional responses can be influenced by learned associations, past experiences, internal narratives, and unconscious needs that aren’t always accessible through conscious thought alone. Hypnotherapy gives us another way to work with those patterns.
The Modern Hypnotherapy Approach
Hypnotherapy uses a relaxed, focused state of attention to help us work with automatic responses and underlying associations that may influence how we think, feel, and behave.
My approach goes beyond simply providing suggestions while you are hypnotized. We first work together to understand the pattern: What triggers it? What keeps it going? What purpose might it have served? What does part of you seem to believe or expect—and what would need to change for a healthier response to begin feeling natural?
Sessions are individualized and draw from Kappasinian and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), guided imagery, self-hypnosis, and psychology-informed concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Psychology, and Depth Psychology.
The goal is not simply to suppress an unwanted symptom. We work to understand the needs, associations, and internal narratives beneath it and develop healthier ways of meeting those needs. Depending on your goals, I can provide practical skills, self-hypnosis exercises, or personalized audio resources to help reinforce the work between sessions.

Background and Experience
I’m Xavier Gomez, M.A., CCHt., a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and mental health professional with over 20 years of experience helping adults, children, teenagers, and families navigate emotional, behavioral, and relationship challenges.
I graduated with High Honors from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute (HMI) and earned my M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
Alongside my private hypnotherapy practice, I work as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in a mental health treatment setting. My years working in mental health have shaped the way I approach hypnotherapy—particularly my understanding of anxiety, emotional regulation, relationships and attachment, trauma-related patterns, substance use and recovery, motivation, family dynamics, and the ways our earlier experiences can continue influencing present-day responses.
Rather than applying the same technique to every person or problem, I approach each client individually. Together, we look beyond what you want to change and become curious about why the pattern may still be there.
That combination of psychological insight and modern hypnotherapy allows our work to address both the conscious goals you bring into the room and the automatic patterns that may be getting in their way.
*Professional Role: My private hypnotherapy practice is separate from my work as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Hypnotherapy services are not psychotherapy and do not include the diagnosis or treatment of mental health disorders. When appropriate, I can work collaboratively with your licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, physician, or other healthcare provider.
Session Modalities & Pricing
– Online Hypnotherapy — $150 per session
Sessions are offered online via Zoom, allowing us to work together from the privacy and comfort of your own space.
Your First Session — approximately 90 minutes
Our first meeting gives us time to explore what you would like to change, relevant history and patterns, potential triggers, and what may be maintaining the problem. We’ll clarify your goals, discuss how hypnotherapy may apply to your particular situation, and—when appropriate—begin our first hypnosis experience.
Follow-Up Sessions — approximately 60 minutes
Subsequent sessions build on what we’re learning about your individual patterns and responses. Hypnotherapy techniques and practical strategies are adjusted as your needs and progress evolve rather than following a predetermined, one-size-fits-all script.
Additional Information
– Sessions are available in English or Spanish.
– I work with adults as well as self-motivated teenagers and children when hypnotherapy is developmentally appropriate and a parent or legal guardian provides consent.
*Insurance is not currently accepted for hypnotherapy services.

What Would You Like to Change?
People come to hypnotherapy for many different reasons. Some want to change a specific habit or fear. Others recognize a recurring emotional or relationship pattern but aren’t sure why it keeps happening. And some simply feel stuck and want another way of approaching a problem they’ve already tried to think their way through.
Areas we may work on include:
Anxiety & Emotional Patterns
Stress • overthinking • fears and phobias • emotional reactivity • difficulty relaxing • recurring emotional patterns
Confidence, Relationships & Intimacy
Self-esteem • confidence • communication • intimacy • sexual confidence • performance anxiety • boundaries • attachment and relationship patterns
Habits & Behavioral Change
Smoking cessation • unwanted habits • motivation • procrastination • wellness-related behavior change • support for established addiction recovery goals
Focus, Performance & Creativity
Concentration • performance anxiety • creative blocks • motivation • personal and professional goals
Sleep & Relaxation
Relaxation • difficulty settling the mind • developing healthier sleep-related routines
Deeper Personal Exploration
Inner-child work • recurring patterns connected to earlier experiences • grief-related patterns • identity • existential questions • optional spiritual exploration
You don’t necessarily need to know why a problem exists before we begin. Discovering what may be maintaining the pattern can itself become part of the work.
